Things have certainly not calmed down for Carbery Macra since the National Conference, with members keeping busy as Christmas approaches.

The week following the rally was packed with events, as some members attended the West Cork Farming Awards in the Celtic Ross Hotel where they were honoured to receive the Farming Award for July.

It was a proud moment and great recognition of their continued hard work.

That same evening, members travelled to Cork City for a bowling competition, where Bantry Macra claimed first place.

The night concluded with a lively social in Clancy’s, enjoyed by all.

To begin November, Caheragh Macra made the long journey to Monaghan with both men’s and women’s teams competing in the All-Ireland Football Finals.

After a tough battle, the Caheragh ladies were crowned the All-Ireland Football Champions 2025, in a fantastic achievement that made the region very proud.

More success followed at the Carbery Basketball Round in Dunmanway, which saw a good turnout across both men’s and women’s categories. Caheragh Macra came out on top, winning both titles and advancing to the All-Ireland Finals in Kilkenny on November 30th.

Looking ahead, the Carbery Regional Meeting will take place in The Ouvane Falls on November 20th at 8:30pm. Bantry Macra will host their Christmas Lights Tractor Run on Sunday, November 23rd in aid of Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue and West Cork Rapid Response, with registration from 12pm in Barrett’s Yard and departure at 2pm.

Prizes will be awarded for the best-lit vehicle. Carbery members are participating in Movember which will conclude with a Shave Night at Bernard Harringtons, Glengarriff.
