CASTLELACK Dragons overcame Drinagh Diamonds to claim the 2026 West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League U11 Schoolboys Shield.
Carbery Factory Park was the venue for a U11 Schoolboys Shield decider in which Castlelack and Drinagh served up a cracker.
The Dragons overcame Ardfield and Beara United to reach the final while the Diamonds proved too strong for Inter Bay Rovers and Kilmichael Rovers. On the day, Castlelack emerged victorious and the Brinny club was delighted to pick up the WCSSL season’s first piece of silverware.

Lyre Rovers remain the team to catch atop the U15 Schoolgirls Premier League. Rovers proved too strong for Beara United and ran out convincing winners to extend their lead to four points.
Gemma O’Brien opened the scoring before turning provider for Katelyn Ponton to double Lyre’s lead. Two additional goals copper fastened a deserved 4-0 win for the league leaders. An Alice O’Sullivan strike and second O’Brien effort wrapped up the points for a delighted Rovers. Clonakilty AFC and Dunmanway Town’s scheduled U15 Schoolgirls Premier League meeting was postponed.
In U12 Schoolgirls Premier League, Riverside Athletic recorded their first league victory of the season away to Dunmanway Town at the Meadows last Monday evening. Moya Hennessy scored twice in a fixture. Additional Carley Shorten-Tobin, Olivia Canty and Lauren O’Mahony strikes sealed a 5-0 Athletic victory.
It is early days in the U12 Schoolgirls Premier where Bay Rovers and Drinagh Rangers lead the way following two rounds of fixtures. Clonakilty AFC and Riverside are three points behind the frontrunners.
Bay and Drinagh are also scheduled to face off in this season’s U12 Schoolgirls Challenge Cup final. Clonakilty and Riverside will meet in the U12 Schoolgirls Shield decider.

Timothy Heverin and Spencer Twomey goals secured Lyre Rovers Yellow’s first U12 Schoolboys Championship League win of the campaign. A 2-0 victory over Beara United was attained despite Luke Browne, Jerh O’Shea and Cian Twomey impressing for the visitors.
In the same division, Lyre Rovers Black suffered a similar 2-0 loss at the hands of Bunratty United Reds. Sean O’Leary’s brace of goals secured Bunratty’s first league success.
Skibbereen Celtic and Sullane remain the teams to catch atop U12 Schoolboys League One. The latter defeated Togher Celtic 5-0 in Togher thanks to Brian Carey (two), Denis Twomey, Igor Zarzycki and Áron Creedon strikes to stay joint-top of the standings.
Skibbereen Celtic kept pace with co-leaders Sullane following a hard-earned 2-1 win at home to Drinagh Dynamos in Ollie McCarthy Park. Sean Sweetnam’s brace earned Celtic all three points.

The Ardfield Mountaineers climbed into second place in the U13 Schoolboys Premier League table following a 6-0 victory at home to Kilmichael Rovers.
Oisin Cullinane (two), Lucas Meregali, Joshua Bobrowski, Tadgh O’Mahony and Colin Ronan were on target for the winners at the Showgrounds.
Bay Rovers and Drinagh Diamonds remain joint-top of the U13 Schoolboys Championship table after the latest round of fixtures.
The Diamonds overcame Dunmanway Town 2-1 in Canon Crowley Park thanks to Oran Brady Keane and Rory Fairbrother efforts. Co-leaders Bay Rovers proved too strong for Riverside Athletic at Carbery Park.
Rian O’Mahony and Joshua Dineen scored for Athletic but an Oskar Ustjanowski hat-trick as well as Daniel Sheehan (two), Seán Dillon, Iarla McElhinney and Jack Levis efforts won it for Rovers.
In U13 Schoolboys League One, Castlelack United received a walkover from Beara United to move joint-top of the standings. In the same division, Clonakilty AFC United hosted Drinagh Diamonds and kept pace with Castlelack following a convincing win.
Denis Cahalane, Darragh Morley, Donagh Harte, Keith Mazibeli Kgotso, Aidan O’Sullivan, Rhys Finn and Francesco Bakaj were on the Ballyvackey club’s scoresheet. Max Musgrave netted for Drinagh.
Skibbereen Dynamos have joined Riverside Athletic at the top of the U14 Schoolboys Championship League. The Dynamos overcame Sullane 5-0 in Ballyvourney with Liam O’Sullivan netting one of the visitors’ goals.

Castlelack maintained their unblemished start to the U15 Schoolboys Premier League campaign with a comprehensive victory away to Skibbereen Celtic at Ollie McCarthy Park.
Jack Allen (two), Chris Heaney, Aidan Morgan, Eoin Kiely, Tadgh Hickey, Oisín Lucot and Luke Barry were amongst the goals for the Brinny club.
Elsewhere in the U15 Schoolboys Premier, Drinagh Rangers proved too strong for Ardfield at Canon Crowley Park. Max Bramoulle and Rory Hurley strikes along with a Hugh McCarthy brace secured a 4-0 win. It was also Rangers’ first league victory of the season.
Clonakilty AFC and Lyre Rovers’ local derby saw Lyre emerge 5-2 winners from their short trip to Ballyvackey.
Robert Leahy netted twice for the hosts but Dara Ryan (two), Donnacha Ryan, Michael Ryan and Isaac McInerney efforts earned Rovers all three points.
Beara United got off the mark in the U15 Schoolboys Premier courtesy of a 4-2 defeat of Bay Rovers. Second half goals from Brendan O’Connor (two), Henrikas Dabrys and Conall Lowney earned the Castletownbere side all three points. Conor O’Leary and Killian O’Sullivan were on target for Bay.
