Young Eagles are flying high

The Skibbereen Eagles U12B basketball team who beat Carrigaline and ultimately won the U12B Cork County Boys Basketball League celebtrate with coaches Jennie Brickley and Ciara O'Driscoll.

SKIBBEREEN Eagles U12B boys’ basketball team is flying high this week after winning the county league title.

This talented team beat Carrigaline 49-30 at Skibbereen Sports Centre and that result ensures that the young Eagles have now won the U12B Cork County League title, a fantastic achievement for this group that has worked so hard all season long.

The season’s not over yet for this 18-strong panel as they are now looking forward to the Top Four competition in early April. They are back training this week as they want to end the season on a high. Coaches are Jennie Brickley and Ciara O’Driscoll and the manager is Helen Hurley.

Involved on the panel are Aaron Dempsey, Aistis Liutkus, Byron Daly, Conn Buckley, Conor Hurley, Daniel Dillane, Darragh Murray, Dermot O’Driscoll, Dylan Heaton-Jones, Jack Heaton-Jones, Joe Connolly (joint captain), Luke O’Sullivan (joint captain), Leo Karanauskas, Michael J O’Regan, Nikita Morozov, Paddy Collins, Shane McCarthy and Tadhg Garrett.


The clocks have gone forward and the longer evenings have finally arrived which can only mean one thing – the lawn mowers are out. A wealth of knowledge is on hand at Bandon Co-Op’s three stores in Bandon, Enniskeane and Kinsale thanks to each of their in-store experts who are there to share their vast experience
