SIX members of West Cork Kickboxing Club will travel to Italy next week to compete in the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organisations) Junior World Championships, which will be held near Venice.

Michael Collins, Gráinne Begley, Luca Roza, Luc Cronin, Botond Roza and Gearoid Debarboullie  are part of the national team that will represent Ireland at the Championships.  The event is the culmination of many months of hard training, under head coach Ian Kingston.

‘To make the Irish team is an achievement in itself,’ Ian said, ‘all of these fighters have trained extremely hard for this event, and I am looking forward to them putting that training into practice on the world stage.’

The West Cork Kickboxing Club fighters are looking forward to the week-long event, which attracts about 3,000 fighters from all over the world, from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, the US and Brazil.
