SKIBBEREEN Rowing Club’s Mark O’Donovan and Shane O’Driscoll are world champions.
The duo claimed first place in the men’s lightweight pair A final at the World Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
It completes a clean sweep for the Skibb men who also won gold at the European Rowing Championships and the three World Rowing Cup regattas this year.
Mark and Shane were second at the 500 metres and hit the front shortly after, and led from there to the end to win gold in 6:32.420, ahead of Italy and Brazil.
Congrats lads, well earned!
