BAURAVILLA wrapped up the Mikie Hourihane Cup on Sunday when Kevin Ó Crualaoí beat David O’Brien and Kevin Minihane, playing for a total stake of €6,000 a-side.

O’Brien enjoyed the better start to this final, making Robins cross in two good bowls. He increased his odds in two more to the nettings and raised a bowl on Minihane and two bowls on Ó Crualaoí at Deckers. From here Ó Crualaoí got down to business. At the rock he reduced the odds to one bowl with Minihane still trailing by a big bowl of odds.

Minihane fell further behind at the double gates and Ó Crualaoi was keeping O’Brien’s odds at the bowl. Ó Crualaoí unleashed a huge bowl to the bridge that O’Brien only beat by 20 metres in two shots to level up the score. The eventual winner took his first lead with another huge bowl towards the line, and had big odds for the last shot. O’Brien missed the line and Ó Crualaoí took home the Mikie Hourihane Cup for 2025.

Kieran Murphy booked his place in the Dan Joe Holland Cup final where he will play Denis Wilmot. On Sunday he beat Noel O’Donovan by the last shot for €1,250 a-side. Both were across the main road in four shots with Murphy just ahead by four metres. O’Donovan took the lead with a big bowl to Foley’s. Reaching Brinny House in three more, O’Donovan had odds of 30 metres, but Murphy reduced this to a metre at the crush. Murphy was back in front with a very well-played tenth bowl to sight for the bridge and two more out of full sight for the line, Murphy just missed the finish line with his 13th and O’Donovan missed this tip.
