Cork need to win home game to keep up hunt for semi-final spot
CORK have made three changes in personnel for Saturday’s crucial Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 1 clash with Donegal at Páirc Uí Rinn (12pm).
The Cork ladies will appear alongside their male counterparts on another double-bill at the city venue – and Ephie Fitzgerald’s charges could do with the points.
Cork are currently fourth in the Division 1 standings – with four semi-final places on offer at the end of the group stages. Visitors Donegal can book a slot in the last four with a victory, as they aim to preserve a 100 per cent record after four outings.
From the team that started for Cork against Monaghan last time out, goalkeeper Martina O’Brien is back in, while there are starting berths too for Laura O’Mahony and Eimear Scally, who captained University of Limerick to Gourmet Food Parlour O’Connor Cup glory last weekend.
Meabh Cahalane and Libby Coppinger drop out of the Cork team while Donegal also make three changes to the team that accounted for Tipperary in Round 4. Anna Marie McGlynn, Evelyn McGinley and Nicole Gordon come into the starting line-up in place of Tara Hegarty, Niamh Hegarty and Geraldine McLaughlin, for a game that will be streamed LIVE on the Ladies Gaelic Football Association Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LadiesGaelicFootball/
This is also the first competitive meeting between the two counties since Cork won the 2018 TG4 All-Ireland Senior semi-final.
