FOUR All-Ireland winning Cork footballers will headline an all-star line-up at a fundraiser for St Finbarr’s Boys National School, Bantry, on Friday, May 12th, at the Westlodge Hotel.

The unique event, Captains’ Couch, will bring together a host of Bantry’s brightest and best sporting international and national stars across a wide array of disciplines, including All-Ireland winners, world champions and national record holders.

Current Bantry Blues captain and former All-Ireland winning skipper Graham Canty – a past pupil of St Finbarr’s Boys NS – will be joined by former Rebel team-mates Noel O’Leary, Daniel Goulding and Nicholas Murphy on the couch where they will take part in a live Q&A session with Southern Star Sports Editor Kieran McCarthy.

Designed to be an informative and fun evening where audience members can meet, listen, learn and interact with the sports stars, there will also be a session where the audience can ask questions.

Also adding to the stellar line-up are Cork ladies footballers, Emma Spillane (Bantry Blues), Niamh Cotter (Beara) and Libby Coppinger (St Colum’s), as well as current Cork senior midfielder Ruairí Deane and Cork U21 Sean O’Leary, and Tadhg McCarthy.

World champion kickboxer Lily de la Cour, Deirdre Begley and former world champion kickboxer Tony Stephenson, all from West Cork Kickboxing Club, will also be interviewed on the night, with rising Munster rugby star Fineen Wycherley, who came on for  the province last weekend in Italy, also to take his seat on the couch.

On the night there will be prizes on offer, including signed jerseys, footballs, Paul O’Connell signed rugby balls and much, much more.

Tickets, €10 each, will be on sale from this Friday, from the school office in St Finbarr’s BNS, the Westlodge Hotel, or call 087-3657821 (if not answered, leave a message).
