TWO emergency care doctors shocked RTE viewers last week with their graphic description of a recent teenage disco in Bandon. Dr Chris Luke of CUH and Mercy Emergency departments, and Dr Jason van der Velde of West Cork Rapid Response expanded on our Bandon teenage disco story, and the drunken chaos that ensued, when they were invited to speak on The Today Show on RTE. Dr Jason went so far as to tell viewers: 'Two of those kids, unquestionably, would be dead if we hadn't looked after them.' Here is what they had to say, some of it quite graphic, about what they encountered that night. They also reiterated Dr Luke's suggestion to our paper last week, that perhaps the buses should be banned for a year.
