A significant investment is being made in Clonakilty's Quality Hotel which has been rebranded as the Clonakilty Park Hotel.

A SIGNIFICANT investment is being made in Clonakilty’s Quality Hotel which has been rebranded as the Clonakilty Park Hotel.

The hotel, which opened in 1999 and is owned by two local businessmen, plans to upgrade from three to four stars over the next two to three years when major refurbishmens will take place.

Phase one, the renovation of the hotel lobby has already been completed, with the bar and restaurant upgrade, next on the schedule followed by the rooms.

General manager David Henry, a Sligo man who has been at the helm since the beginning said: ‘Becoming an independent hotel will allow us not only to benefit from substantial investment, but also to focus and build on what we do best which is providing a relaxing environment for families to enjoy time together. We have built a very successful hotel over the last 20 years and we see this as a very progressive step to safeguarding our position as a market leader for family holidays in Ireland.’

The new logo for the hotel which is visible across their website and social platforms, has captured the core elements of the historic Clonakilty seal and shield, combining the old market area of the town which was abundant in woodlands and the ebb and flow of Clonakilty Bay.

The hotel offers a selection of 96 rooms, 22 bedroom suites, six holiday homes and apartments and an Indoor Playzone, Teen Zone, Outdoor Playground, Adventure Centre and three screen cinema.

David added: ‘It’s a very exciting time for all of us, and we continue to focus on our attention to detail and our warmth and  willingness to make every guest feel extra special.’
