‘THANK you, Facebook,’ or words to that effect, were posted by Sam McNicholl of Connolly’s pub in Leap fame after a thief responded to Sam’s plea and returned a stolen laptop.
Sam, who runs the legendary music venue in Leap with his mother, Eileen Connolly, told The Southern Star: ‘My laptop was taken from the bar during the Hallowe’en celebrations and I have to admit it made me feel violated.
He said the loss of the computer was a major inconvenience, as well as being very upsetting. ‘It was awful – I didn’t have the information I needed to hand. I had nothing to work on, and ended up having to go to the library.
‘I got so fed up that I posted a kind of moral plea. I called the thief a party pooper. I called him – or her – out, daring the thief to do something productive rather than destructive. And, on Monday, I found my laptop. Someone had put it just inside the front door.
‘Then I put up another post saying: “Thank you, cosmos”.’
