Driver dies following accident earlier this week.

A 34-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained following a crash earlier this week near Togher village on the Crookstown to Bantry road.

GARDAÍ have confirmed that a 34-year-old man who was involved in a two vehicle collision two miles east of Togher Village on Wednesday evening died earlier this morning.

The man's condition had been described as 'critical' following the crash that involved a car and a 4x4 jeep on the R585 on Wednesday at around 5.30pm. He was subsuquently airlifted to CUH following the collision where his condition did not improve. The other driver involved in the collision was also taken to CUH but his injuries were described as non threatening.

The section of the road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions were put in place.
