SEVERAL locations in West Cork will host events in August and September as a part of Cork Craft Month.

Venues in Kinsale and Bantry will open their doors to West Cork locals and visitors alike to hold exhibitions and workshops relating to craft and design.

A real highlight of the creative calendar takes place in Kinsale, where both established and emerging craft makers will gather in the James O’Neill building for the TIME Exhibition, which is the annual showcase exhibition for Cork Craft and Design. The exhibition is curated by Feargal O’Leary and will run from August 5th-14th.

Also in the James O’Neill building is the Home Event, which runs from August 19th -September 5th. The Home Event showcases handmade items for the home featuring furniture, textiles, ceramics and more.

There will be many opportunities to learn about Craft in West Cork during the month.

The Studio of Sara Roberts, near Kinsale, will be open on August 22nd for a Porcelain workshop from 10am-4pm.

Ballinacurra House in Kinsale will be busy during craft month, first hosting an Art and Crafts Workshop for kids aged 10-12. The camp runs from 10am – 4pm from August 10th to 14th. Also in Ballinacurra House is a two-day introduction to ceramics workshop ran by Aidrian Wistreich, from August 12st to 24th. See www.corkcraftanddesign.com.
