FOUR men charged with a €31m seizure of cocaine in Courtmacsherry last July are awaiting further charges and will appear before Bandon District Court next month.   

The four accused appeared via video-link at Clonakilty District Court this week. They were previously charged with the possession of cocaine as well as the possession of cocaine for the purpose of sale or supply at Meelmane, Courtmacshery on July 1st.

The accused are Mark Doherty (40), of Glasgow, Scotland; Levent Gulay (31), of Schwabenstraße 76, Neu Ulm, Germany; Christopher Hibbett (44), of Truro, England, and Ben Sandford (39), of Moray, Scotland.

Judge Joanne Carroll was told by prosecuting gardaí that additional charges were being brought against all four defendants while directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions were being prepared for their next in-person court appearance on November 17th at Bandon District Court.
