Special honour for Colette at Business awards

Colette Twomey, CEO of the world famous Clonakilty Food Company is to be presented with the Mayor's award for ‘Outstanding West Cork Business Ambassador'.

COLETTE Twomey, CEO of the world famous Clonakilty Food Company is to be presented with the Mayor’s award for ‘Outstanding West Cork Business Ambassador’ at the inaugural Southern Star West Cork  Business and Tourism Awards.

Colette will be presented with her award at a gala dinner at Inchydoney Lodge and Spa on November 30th where 11 other category winners will be announced across a variety of categories. 

Cork county mayor Patrick Gerard Murphy said: ‘Colette is a worthy first winner of this award. The Clonakilty black pudding business and brand continue to go from strength to strength creating employment and helping put West Cork on the map. Collette’s also very focused on giving back to the local community wherever she can. I think the judges made a great choice!’

Colette employs a team of 50 who are based at their €7m headquarters on the outskirts of Clonakilty where they are also developing a visitor centre, set to open next Summer. 

Relocating there from Little Island last year gave them the capacity to break into the Asian market as well as giving them certification to the US.
