A GROUP of fourth class students from Our Lady of Mercy National School in Bantry have been chosen to be part of this year’s prestigious RDS Primacy Science Fair.

The primary element of the Young Scientist competition takes place next month at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.

The group of 18 Bantry students led by their teacher Barry O’Driscoll will showcase their project entitled: Pendulums: Time flies! Or does it swing? Can we measure time with pendulums?

Principal Dympna Daly said the students were really enjoying their action based project: ‘It’s lovely to see the children enjoying it – it’s very much within their each as it’s hands on and activity based.’

She also praised their teacher Mr O’Driscoll for his commitment to the project.
