Dunmanway Historical Association will hold a talk and presentation on the West Cork Railways with Chris Larkin on Thursday October 16th at 8pm. This photograph was taken at Dunmanway Railway Station on the last day of the West Cork Railway in 1961, with Atkins grain silo in the background. The Historical Association would be delighted if somebody could identify the lady and the child on the platform. Free membership of Dunmanway Historical Association is the reward. The senior footballers put in a stellar performance last Sunday at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the McCarthy Insurance premier senior football county semi-final against Nemo Rangers where they lost by a single point on a scoreline of Newcestown 0-19, Nemo Rangers 0-20.
Teachers and school principals from several West Cork schools (local to Macroom) who attended the book launch recently. The booklet was created by six Macroom-based teachers in a group called Macroom Arts Circle which comprised Fiona Angland, Teresa Downy, Helen Hallissey, Mary McCarthy, Marie-Thérèse O’Callaghan and Sinéad Twomey.

Baltimore resident Kevin Fitzgerald took advantage of the calm weather at the weekend to complete an 8km swim from Baltimore to Cape Clear Island in a time of 2 hours and 29 minutes.
