DRINAGH Rangers U12, Riverside Athletic U13 and Sullane U14 were amongst the West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League schoolgirls’ winners this past week.

Clonakilty AFC Red and Drinagh Rangers’ U12 Schoolgirls Premier League saw the Canon Crowley Park side earn their first three points of the season.

Ellie O’Regan (2), Hannah Sheehy (2), Aisling O’Donovan and Sophia Hodnett scored Drinagh’s goals in a 6-0 triumph. That result moved the Canon Crowley Park club into a share of the division’s lead alongside Clonakilty and Bay Rovers.

Dunmanway Town and Riverside Athletic’s U13 Schoolgirls Premier League fixture saw the visitors emerge 2-0 winners at the Meadows. Ruby Dooley and Ria Buttimer efforts moved Riverside six points clear at the top of the standings.

U14 Schoolgirls Premier League leaders Sullane were held to a 1-1 draw away to Dunmanway Town at the Meadows. Freya Cronin handed the visitors a 1-0 lead but Faye Barry’s late equaliser earned Dunmanway a share of the points.

In the same division, Drinagh Rangers and Lyre Rovers played out an exciting 2-2 draw. Matilda Kaiser scored twice for Rangers in a fixture where Leah Buttimer and Eabha O’Leary were on Rovers’ scoresheet. Sullane stay top of the U14 Schoolgirls Premier, a point ahead of Clonakilty AFC.

Riverside Athletic and Bay Rovers couldn’t be separated in the U14 Schoolgirls Championship following a 2-2 draw at Carbery Factory Park. Emma O’Callaghan-Barry and an own goal represented Bay’s total in a game Annabella McCarthy and Aliksandra Bak found the net for Riverside.

Lyre Rovers and Clonakilty AFC’s U15 Schoolgirls Premier League local derby ended in stalemate. Alex O’Brien fired the visitors ahead only for a Faye McCarthy equaliser to earn Rovers a 1-1 draw and share of the points.

Oran Werner scored the only goal in Clonakilty AFC Rovers’ 1-0 U12 Schoolboys Premier League victory over club-mates Clonakilty AFC Wanderers.

Castlelack Celtic will contest this year’s U12 Schoolboys Challenge Cup decider. The Brinny side overcame Skibbereen Dynamos 5-0 with Simon Crewe netting a hat-trick. Cormac Evans and Jack Crowley also scored.

Sullane are the first club through to this season’s U12 Schoolboys Shield semi-finals. The Ballyvourney club defeated Bay Rovers 3-2 following a cracking quarter-final.

Brian Carey, Nathan Mullen and Sam McCarthy found the net for Sullane in a tie Morgan Coleman and Shay Leahy scored for Bay.

Elsewhere in the U12 Schoolboys Shield, Lyre Rovers Yellow are also through to the semi-finals. Lyre overpowered Castlelack Rangers thanks to Eoghan O’Driscoll (3), Paddy Higgins (2), Eoin Ryan, Timothy Heverin and Darren McCarthy goals.

Skibbereen Celtic defeated Drinagh Diamonds 1-0 in another of the competition’s quarter-finals.

Clonakilty AFC defeated Kilmichael Rovers 6-1 to reach the U16 Schoolboys U16 Shield final.

There was an explosive start to the season’s U13 Schoolboys Premier League where Clonakilty AFC City edged local rivals Ardfield 5-4 at the Showgrounds.

Sean Kennedy (3), Max O’Keefe and Aaron Nash scored for Clon with Lucas Meregali Xavier, Colin Ronan, Matthew Harte and Leonardo Pezza scoring for the hosts.

Drinagh Rangers remain three points clear atop U13 Schoolboys League One following the latest round of games. Max Musgrave cancelled out Jack Crowley’s opener for Castlelack United in a 1-1 draw at Brinny.

1-1 was also how it finished in Beara United and Clonakilty AFC United’s League One clash in Castletownbere. Keith Mazibeli netted for the visitors but a Maksym Honcharuk penalty earned Beara a share of the spoils.

Yet another 1-1 saw Skibbereen Celtic and Dunmanway Town share the points in the U13 Schoolboys Championship. Jack O’Brien was Skibb’s scorer and Cian Owens netted for Dunmanway.

Drinagh Rangers Diamonds and Bay Rovers produced a nine-goal U13 Schoolboys Championship thriller in Canon Crowley Park. Sean Hamilton (2), Tadhg O’Donovan and Tadhg Kinsella netted for Rangers. Iarla McElhinney (3), Daniel Sheehan and Oskar Ustjanowski strikes won it 5-4 for a delighted Rovers.
