KINSALE, Ilen Rovers and Kilmacabea will contest Cork Credit Unions Cork LGFA county league semi-finals following a busy weekend of knockout encounters.
Kinsale will travel to Aghada in this year’s Division 1 semi-finals. The West Cork club hosted St Val’s where they built a 3-4 to 1-4 interval lead on Sunday. An evenly-fought second period saw Kinsale keep their opponents at arm’s length before emerging 4-10 to 2-7 winners.
Jenny Murphy top scored with 3-3 in a game Caoimhe Horgan (1-5), Aine Ní Cearnaigh and Hanna Deasy (0-1 each) also contributed. Daire Tyne, Amy Casey and Anna Kelleher were the other Kinsale players to impress.

Aghada will host Kinsale in the penultimate round after seeing off Clonakilty 1-17 to 1-5 at Rostellan. Sinéad O’Donovan (1-0), Síofra Pattwell (0-3), Aoife O’Flynn Meade and Aisling Moloney (0-1 each) were on target for the West Cork club. Sarah Leahy (1-5), Lauren Linehan (0-5), Róisín Phelan, Ali Smith (0-2 each), Clare Walsh, Brianna Smith and Kaitlin Smith (0-1 each) scored for Aghada.
Glanmire and Mourneabbey came through the other side of the Division 1 county league quarter-finals phase. Glanmire had to overcome a battling Castlehaven, winning 2-9 to 0-10. Mairead O’Driscoll kicked four points for a Haven team that also had Ellie McCarthy (0-2), Shelley Daly, Hannah Sheehy, Roisin O’Sullivan and Ellen Connolly (0-1 each) on target.
Mourneabbey will travel to Glanmire in the last four thanks to a 4-11 to 2-10 defeat of Carrigaline.

Muintir Gabriels received a walkover from Killavullen and an automatic Division 7 county league semi-final berth without having to kick a ball. The West Cork club will take on Carrigtwohill in the last four.
St Colum’s Division 7 county league aspirations were ended by Mitchelstown following a 3-13 to 3-9 quarter-final defeat. Paula O’Mahony (1-3), Clodagh Downey (1-2), Katie Dineen (1-1), Molly O’Mahony (0-2) and Abbie O’Sullivan (0-1) scored for the Kealkill club.
Kilmacabea will contest a Division 8 county league semi-final in the club’s first year fielding an adult team. A 2-16 to 1-6 victory at home to Keelnameela sealed Kilmacabea’s place in the last four where an away trip to St Mary’s awaits.
Leading 0-8 to 0-5 at the break, Kilmacabea added two second-half goals to continue what’s been a terrific maiden season. Nell Kinsella (1-7) and Kellianne French (1-4) provided the bulk of the winners' scores. Caroline Beamish (0-2), Mags O’Donovan, Ellie Jennings and Katie Whelton (0-1) were also on target. Raonaid Kerrisk, Sophie O’Donovan and Katelyn French were three additional players to stand out for Kilmacabea.
Nell Kinsella kicked 1-7 for Kilmacabea against Keelnameela.

Rosscarbery took on Inch Rovers in the final Division 2 Group 2 league fixture last Sunday.
Inch maintained their perfect record with a fourth consecutive win and set up a Division 2 quarter-final at home to Bantry Blues following a 1-11 to 1-6 victory.
Despite the defeat, Ciara O’Rourke (1-4), Kacie O’Sullivan, Katie Murphy (0-1 each), Eabha O’Leary, Gemma O’Sullivan, Kate O’Sullivan and Áine Hayes stood out for Ross.
The winners of Inch and Bantry’s quarter-final will face Midleton in the last four. Fermoy await the winners of Éire Óg and Valley Rovers on the other side of the Division 2 league draw.
Into the Division 3 county league where Tadhg MacCarthaigh lost out to Mallow following a high-scoring shootout. The latter emerged one-point winners, 5-11 to 4-13. The Caheragh club remains in the hunt for a top-four finish. Maureen Keating (2-6), Eleanor Keating, Ella O’Sullivan (1-0 each), Alaia O’Sullivan (0-3), Jennifer Collins, Emma Hegarty (0-2 each) were Tadhg MacCarthaigh’s scorers.
Dohenys were another West Cork Division 3 club to come up short on Sunday. An undefeated Nemo Rangers overcame the Dunmanway side 2-11 to 2-8 and maintained top spot in the division. A young Dohenys line-up stayed second in the league table and had Clara Duggan (2-0), Ava O’Donovan (0-4), Kellie Ann Buttimer (0-3) and Abby Kearney (0-1) on their scoresheet.
Bandon’s scheduled Division 3 clash with Araglen Desmonds Buí was postponed due to a bereavement in the Kiskeam area.

Beara recorded their first Division 4 county league win of the season at home to Watergrasshill.
Leading 3-7 to 2-0 at the short whistle, the hosts kicked for home in the second period and ran out deserving 4-11 to 0-2 winners. Katie O’Sullivan (2-3), Anna Downing (1-3), Shannon Hanley Murphy (1-1), Patricia Dunne, Ciara Murphy, Ruby Downing and Clare O’Shea (0-1 each) all scored for a delighted Beara.
A West Cork derby saw Clann na nGael prove too strong for Ibane Ladies in Division 5. The Scorchers registered a 5-5 to 3-5 victory and stayed two points clear of the chasing pack at the top of the table.
Ibane are in third place and still in contention despite their first league loss of the season. Katelyn Dinneen netted a hat-trick and Roisin Ní Bhuachalla (0-2), Hannah Twomey, Ellen O’Riordan, and Alice O’Leary (0-1 each) were on target for Ibane.
Ilen Rovers remain the team to catch at the top of Division 6 after the West Cork club travelled to Naomh Fionnbarra and recorded a 3-11 to 1-10 victory. Carla O’Regan (0-7), Maebh Collins (1-3), Keelin Murphy (1-1) and Clare Collins (1-0) scores secured a county league semi-final berth for a delighted Ilen.
Courcey Rovers maintained second position in the Division 6 league thanks to a 5-9 to 2-5 win away to Dromtarriffe.
