BALLINSPITTLE’S David Harte is in the running to be named the 2016 FIH Goalkeeper of the Year – and he needs your votes to help him.

The West Cork man won this award last year when he was voted the best men’s hockey goalkeeper in the world – yes, that’s right, in the world – and it’s a sign of David’s class, skill and ability that he is in the running to win the accolade for the second year in a row.

2016 was a momentous year for David who captained the Ireland men’s hockey team at the Olympic Games in Rio, with his twin brother Conor also impressing at the Games.

David was the first Irish winner of this international award last year so let’s help crown another magnificent year for this great West Cork sports ambassador.
