KILBRITTAIN-TIMOLEAGUE claimed the 2026 Cork Camogie Lily Grant county league title.

The Carbery club’s second team reached the league final off the back of an undefeated Group A run in this year’s competition.

Kilbrittain-Timoleague topped the table with a perfect record following victories over Rockbán, Ballincollig, Ballinhassig and Nemo Rangers. That set up a semi-final with Youghal in which the Carbery amalgamation racked up an impressive 3-22 en route to the league decider.

Watergrasshill topped Group B before overcoming Rockbán 1-10 to 1-5 in the penultimate round and lined out against Kilbrittain-Timoleague in a midweek decider at the Castle Road ground.

Amid humid conditions, Anna Crowley and Eva Nagle scores got Kilbrittain-Timoleague off to a positive start with defenders Maeve Dollard and Sarah Conlon restricting Watergrasshill’s early attempts.

Crowley settled her team’s nerves with a well-finished goal and the scores kept coming as Rachel Butler raised consecutive white flags.

Kilbrittain-Timoleague changed ends 1-7 to 0-5 in front. Refusing to sit on their five-point advantage, the leaders maintained a high tempo throughout the second period.

Restricting Watergrasshill to two converted frees, the Carbery club added eight points to run out convincing 1-13 to 0-7 winners.

Eva Nagle (0-5), Anna Crowley (1-2), Rachel Butler and Jess Harrington (0-3 each) were on target for the Lily Grant county league champions.

That success rounded off a productive couple of months for Kilbrittain-Timoleague. The club’s first team finished top of the Premier Junior county league’s Group B thanks to wins over Milford, Mallow and Tracton. Despite a narrow semi-final defeat to Youghal, both of Kilbrittain-Timoleague’s teams have much to look forward to this summer.

Bandon’s terrific junior C county league campaign saw the Carbery side produce a string of excellent displays and finish top of Group A.

Victories over St Colum’s, Dungourney and Fermoy sent Bandon into the league semi-finals and another showdown with Carbery rivals St Colum’s. A terrific encounter ended 3-9 to 2-7 in Bandon’s favour.

Carrigtwohill were the opponents in the league final. Trailing Bandon 1-8 to 0-6 at the short whistle, Carrigtwohill fought back and edged the closest of league finals 1-10 to 1-9.

The Lilywhites scorers included Aisling O’Connor (1-1), Clodagh Barry (0-4), Laura Cummins (0-2), Evelyn McCarthy and Jessica Bolster (0-1 each). Katie Twohig, Ella McCarthy and Amy Allen were the pick of the Lilywhites’ top performers.
