Bantry Blues’ county junior A winning captain Laura O’Sullivan (22) has set her male club counterparts a challenge – who will be the first team promoted to the senior ranks?! Let the games begin!

Highlight of your sporting career? Winning three county titles with Bantry’s junior ladies.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I represented Ireland at kickboxing in the World Cup when I was 14.

Best-ever holiday? Thailand with the girls.

If you won the lotto what would you buy first? I would buy Kate O’Brien a watch. She’s always late.

Separated at birth, who’s your celebrity twin double? Kat from Eastenders.

What’s your favourite word? Jäger bombs.

If you could change any part of you what would it be? My knees because I have done two cruciates.

Your most treasured item of clothing? Jess’s UCC jersey – her pride and joy – which I’ll be keeping!

Favourite cartoon? Powerpuff Girls.

If I was an animal then I would be a ... Jack Russell.

What question would you liked to have been asked in this interview? Who is going to be promoted to senior first – Bantry Blues ladies or men’s team?!


She’s captain of the Bantry Blues’ ladies team that won the recent Cork JAFC title for the first time and Laura O’Sullivan, a second year student in Professional Masters of Education in Physical Education (PE teaching) at the University of Limerick, has also won four All-Ireland and Munster titles with Cork, from U14 to minor level, not to mention three county titles with Bantry’s junior ladies.
