The women's senior and intermediate draws have been announced. 

THE women’s senior and intermediate draws have been announced. 

The women’s senior championship, sponsored by Lowney’s Jewellers’, has five first round scores. Meghan Collins plays Aileen Murphy at Timoleague. Claire O’Sullivan plays Geraldine Curtin at Bauravilla. Louise Collins plays Veronica O’Mahony at Condrohid. Defending champion Carmel Carey plays Emma Fitzpatrick at Templemartin, and Mairead O’Driscoll plays Catriona Murphy at Lyre. 

There is a second chance for those defeated in the first round. Five winners go through to the quarter-finals while those losing in the first -round play two further scores a single-hand and a three-way to decide the three remaining quarter-finalists. 

The intermediate championship has 17 starters. In round one Sarah Kelly plays Tegan Hurley with winner meeting Bernadette Murphy. The seven remaining second round scores are, Louise Daly v Helen Whyte at The Clubhouse; Juliette Murphy v Maria Nagle at Ballinacurra, Upton; Lisa Hegarty v Chloe O’Halloran at Derrinasafa; Ciara Buckley v Hannah Sexton at Kilumney; Emer Wilmot v Emma Hickey at Shannonvale; Hannah Cronin v Laura O’Callaghan at Castletownkenneigh; Katie Sexton v Julianne Hayes at Bauravilla.

Inter-regional draws for the 2019 county championship series took precedent at the Marsh Executive meeting while draws for the men’s senior and intermediate championships will be announced in April. 

The draw for the county junior A championship forms a separate entity to those for all other grades. Preliminary round Junior A is as follows: (A) London v Mid at Ballygurteen; (B) East Cork v North Cork at Grenag. Quarter-finals: 1. (B) winner v South West at Macroom; 2. Gaeltacht v Carbery at The Clubhouse; 3. West Cork v City at Castletownkenneigh; 4. (A) winner v North East at Templemichael. 

The draw for Junior B, Junior C, Junior and novice veteran, Novice 1 and 2, junior ladies and all underage championships is as follows. Venues selected pertain only to adult championships. Venues for youths will be announced separately. First round (A) City v Mid Cork at Firmount; Quarter-finals: 1. North East v Gaeltacht at Peake; 2. North Cork v South West at Newcestown; 3. West Cork v East Cork at Beal na mBlath; 4. Carbery v (A) winner at Lyre.
