THE eerie landscape of The Gearagh's felled trees and a submerged forest has been beautifully captured by a local photographer's drone.
EVER wondered what it would be like to float high above The Gearagh?
Well you don’t have to wonder any more, because Macroom photographer John Delea has done just that for you – with his drone.
Last week John made the most of a beautiful autumnal day to take his P3P drone on a trip to the stunning and very unique Gearagh – the submerged glacial woodland which is also a nature reserve, near Toonsbridge.
When the trees were felled in the 50s and the land flooded as part of the Inniscarra damn project, it left behind a very eerie landscape.
It has mesmerised and charmed photographers for decades, and John Delea’s stunning aerial footage gives some indication of why so many people continue to be fascinated by this stunning local asset.
