As of 8.30am this morning, voting turnout was low with just 1.8% of people having cast their votes in Cork South West, on a par with Cork East but marginally higher than Cork North West, where turnout was 1.6%.

Turnout in the city, at 3.3%, has also been low so far, but still significantly higher than the county average of 1.7%.
There are 3,612,957 eligible to vote in the country; among them the 71,377 in Cork South West, and 66,388 in Cork North West.
The President is elected by proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote, as set out in Article 12.2.3 of the Constitution.
This means you give your preference in order of 1, 2, 3. You do not have to mark all three, and can simply mark one candidate, and leave it at that.
The Count Centre for Cork South West and Cork North West is Mallow GAA Complex.
The count will begin at 9am on Saturday morning, October 25th.
