Video promoting Irish language lands Clonakilty school €1,000

The students performed their original song, to the tune of Meghan Trainor's ‘All About That Bass' and posted the video to Youtube.

SACRED Heart Secondary School in Clonakilty recently took part in the Gaelfhíseán na Bliana competition, led by the Gealbhratach Irish Committee.

The students produced, recorded and edited their own music video in Irish, ‘Is Aoibhinn Linn an Ghaeilge’.

 

The students performed their original song, along with several teachers, to the tune of Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass and posted the video to Youtube.

 

Sacred Heart’s video won the competition in the Cork County region and €1,000 for the school.

 

A presentation was made to the Gealbhratach Irish Committee by Traolach Ó Donnabháin, craobh chloich na coillte de Chonradh na Gaeilge, John Loughnane, méara chloch na coillte, Orlaith Nic Ghearailt, bainisteoir, Feachtas Feasachta & Seachtain na Gaeilge le Conradh na Gaeilge.
