UNION Hall Smoked Fish took the top award at last weekend’s West Cork Artisan Food Awards, held as part of the Taste of West Cork food festival.
The awards, held in Baltimore on Saturday night, saw the best of West Cork’s local artisan producers turn out in big numbers to see who would win the top titles. West Cork Pies were also award-winners, taking away the Newcomer Award, with West Cork Eggs named as runners-up (highly commended). Mella’s Fudge was Highly Commended in the main award.
The awards, previously known as the Belling Forum and Awards, are sponsored by Sean and Rose O’Driscoll of Drimoleague.
The awards pay tribute to the variety of artisan foods and the success story that is West Cork food.
