Gardaí are investigating a fire in Drimoleague earlier this morning which claimed the life of a 59-year-old man.
A 59-year-old man has died following a fire in Drimoleague last night. The fatal fire occurred at High Street in the village at around 12:45am this morning and gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident.
The man was discovered injured at his address and medical assistance was administered but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Gardaí in Bantry are investigating the fire and the scene is currently the subject of a garda forensic investigation.
