For more than three decades, this artwork has stood as a powerful tribute to local history and remains deeply cherished by residents and visitors alike.

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley said, 'This completed project shows the impact of public art on people and the effectiveness of a collaborative partnership approach in preserving our heritage. This project means that this mural can be enjoyed for years to come.'

The successful completion of the restoration ensures that this significant piece of public art will be preserved for generations to come, highlighting an ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating a rich cultural tradition.
