SOMETHING exciting is happening at Glebe Gardens, Baltimore, this summer: Beginning on July 18th, renowned chef Rob Krawczyk will be starting an eight-week residency.Â
Born in 1977 in Cork, Rob grew up in a home that revolved around the kitchen, influenced by his parent's strong culinary and artistic heritage. The main source of inspiration is his father, Frank, who has been producing charcuterie for the past 20 years in West Cork. Frank taught Rob the skills of curing and smoking meats, making salamis and dry-aged coppa hams, whilst instilling a passion for fine food in its raw and natural state.
Rob has enjoyed time working for notable chefs such, as Michelin Star chef Richard Corrigan in London; Alice Waters of Chez Pannise in San Francisco (ranked in the Top 50 restaurants in world) and Martijn Kajuiter of Michelin-starred Cliff House Hotel, as well as heading up the award winning Chop House (Michelin Bib) and Kevin Dundon's Dunbrody House.
A proud member of Eurotoques, JRE Ireland & UK and testament to the ethos of these wonderful food movements, Rob's most recent series of accolades are the much coveted title of âBest Chef in Leinster 2015,' which he has retained for 2016, as voted by his customers and peers in the Irish Restaurant Association of Ireland. As a chef, Rob's philosophy is to present ingredients as close as possible to their natural state, providing an honest encounter between producer, chef and guest.
Rob is an exciting addition to the team at Glebe Gardens, bringing a new culinary experience to an already well established and renowned restaurant and café.Â
Make sure you visit Glebe Gardens this summer to experience Robs cooking as well as the beauty that is The Glebe.
