MORE than 100 schools across Cork and Kerry have already pledged to bring colour to the classroom today as part of the ‘Stand 4 Féíle’ Jersey Day.

SuperValu stores in Castletownbere, Bantry and Skibbereen have also announced their participation.

The event is being co-ordinated by a voluntary group of former Cork and Kerry GAA players, and the call to action invites students, teachers, staff, and the wider community to wear their favourite jersey and make a small donation to support the ‘Stand 4 Féile’ fundraising initiative.

Teenager Féile O’Sullivan (13) is recovering following a life changing accident on her family farm in Allihies last July.

Funds raised on the Jersey Day will provide essential rehabilitation support and future care for Féile.

Her mother Maureen O’Sullivan expressed her gratitude to the schools who have registered for the ‘Stand 4 Féíle’ Jersey Day so far, and is reminding others that there is still time to sign up.

‘We’re very grateful to all the schools who’ve signed up to take part so far, and we’re urging every school across Cork and Kerry to join in on the fun and register to take part this Friday to support Féile’s recovery,’ she said.

Schools can capture the colour and energy of the day and share their photos and videos using #Stand4Féile on social media.

All participating schools will enter a draw to win a brand-new set of jerseys. In total, four primary schools (two in Cork and two in Kerry) and four secondary schools (two in Cork and two in Kerry) will benefit from the generous gesture by O’Neills Sports.
