LETTER: Double talk about Israel resurrected

SIR – Was it intentional to publish Bob Storey and Daniel Teegan on Hallowe’en resurrecting old double talk about Israel? 

After his generalised - not entirely correct - theory of total colonial displacement of aborigines and red Indians, he suddenly declares Palestine is unique! Into the bargain he (Storey) claims ethnic cleansing under the British when all the census reports show massive increases in Arab - besides Jewish population. When British following Arab complaints to enquiries appealed for the alleged displaced and landless Arabs to present themselves to verify and compensate it was difficult to find 600 such people.

The driest joke is he accuses Israeli absence of defined or international borders as proof of projected expansion. This ying-yang match of Arab demands for Palestine ... ‘from the river to sea,’ is ironic. It was precisely Arab refusals to accept the 1947 UN 181 border, or make peace on the Armistices of 1949 borders, that left borders undefined and up for legitimate booty in battles that the Arab parties opened!

May we presume Daniel Teegan is a dog person given he objects to Israeli pussyfooting its settlement of Samaria and Judea - alias the West Bank (of Jordan) - but the as a fervent proponent of CisJordan being all of ‘Palestine’ we are assured he does not want it back in the Hashemite Kingdom of erstwhile TransJordan?  

All this quibbling over how a couple of million Arabs prefer to be misruled by an immigrant Egyptian or Hejazian imported autocrats of course quietly distracts and shelves that between the fall of Rome and the erection of Latin America the biggest imperialist exercise on Earth was the creation of the Arab World by military conquest and then the greater Moslem World ditto as the Moguls invaded India and the Turks the Balkans while slave raiding Ukraine.
