Kinsale student Sarah Fitzgerald, an occasional book reveiwer for The Southern Star, has been chosen to review books on this year's Late Late Toy Show.

KINSALE student Sarah Fitzgerald, an occasional book reveiwer for The Southern Star, has been chosen to review books on this year’s Late Late Toy Show.

Sarah, who struck up a great relationship with Ryan Tubridy on a visit to him in RTE, and during his visit to Kinsale earlier this year, has been given a coveted slot on the Toy Show, which will be broadcast this year on Friday, December 1st.

Sarah is a second year student in Kinsale Community School, and she is currently waiting on the books that she needs to review but is very excited to be among the West Cork young people chosen to take part in this year’s Show.

The Toy Show will also feature Mount Saint Michael students from Rosscarbery whose trad music group Croiúil was chosen to perform on the night.

In more good news for the Kinsale student, Sarah Fitzgerald has also had a science project approved for the BT Young Scientist Exhibition which takes place in January . Sarah’s project is on a subject very close to her heart –young people and reading.

The title of the project is ‘Statistical Investigation into the Decline of Reading among Ireland’s Youth and how we can prevent this from impacting future generations.’
