THIS Sunday’s Junior Space Camp at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork city will teach 5-7 year olds how to safely view the upcoming partial solar eclipse on March 20th. From 12:00pm – 1:30pm kids will explore mirrors and reflections and make their own kaleidoscope to take home. Using big prisms they will make rainbows and they’ll learn to tell the time with a giant sundial in the castle courtyard . Places are only €10 each but booking is essential. Call 021 4326120 or email [email protected] to book your place. If you’re interested in viewing and learning more about the partial solar eclipse the Blackrock team and the Cork Astronomy Club are hosting a free event for the general public from 8:30 – 10:30 on the 20th in their lower carpark. No booking is required for this.
