A MOTORIST under the influence of both drugs and drink was three times over the legal limit and had no insurance.
Kristjan Sevtsov (32), of Carrigtwohill, Cork, pleaded guilty to drink driving, the possession of cocaine, driving without insurance and driving without a licence at Bandon District Court.
On July 15th 2024 at around 12.35pm, gardaí pulled Mr Sevtsov over at Glasslyn Road, Bandon, observing that his eyes were glazed over and detecting the smell of alcohol.

The accused said he had drunk half a bottle of whiskey and three bottles of beer in the afternoon.
A blood test found he was almost three times over the legal limit of 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.
Gardai found a bag with a white substance lying on the back seat of the car, later identified as cocaine with a value of €100.
Checks found that Mr Sevtsov had no licence or insurance on his car at the time. The court heard that he had previous convictions for speeding, driving without insurance and drug possession.
Mr Sevtsov, who works in construction, had an Irish learner permit licence at the time of the road side check.
Solicitor Plunkett Taaffe, defending, said: ‘His wife is not happy with his antics, which have put them and their child in jeopardy.
He was out with a number of friends and lost the run of himself. He bought the cocaine under the influence of alcohol.’
Judge Joanne Carroll convicted and fined him €150 for driving without a licence.
She applied the Probation Act for the possession of cocaine, and convicted and fined him €175 for driving without insurance.
