Cork city is one of the top five towns in Ireland for work-life balance, according to a new study.
Research by Switcher.ie has revealed the best areas in Ireland to live and work based on a range of factors, including access to amenities, broadband and mobile connectivity, house prices and crime rates.
While Arklow in County Wicklow took the top spot, Cork city came in at fifth place.

The study established the top towns in a range of different categories, including examining affordability, leisure facilities, shopping and cafes and access to green spaces
Cork city was one of the most suitable towns for hybrid workers. Switcher.ie compared distance to major roads and bus stops for workers, and found that Cork city had the best transport links in the country. It ranked second for access to pools and sports facilities and fifth for fast mobile broadband speeds.
Other towns around the county grabbed top spots in the report. Both Cobh and Carrigaline were listed in the top five safest places to live and work in Ireland.
Mallow was determined as the fifth most affordable town to buy a house in.
