CLONAKILTY has a brand new website that reflects the vibrancy of the town and its surroundings in a year that the town is celebrating the honour of the Best Town in Europe 2017 award.
At a reception in Fernhill House Hotel in Clonakilty, the new website, www.clonakilty.ie was officially launched by the town’s Mayor Anthony McDermott and Cllr Christopher O’Sullivan.
Cllr O’Sullivan, as chairperson of the Clonakilty Chamber of Commerce said the new website, which was created by Granite Digital, the Cork-based national digital agency, is ‘better looking, more functional and will serve the town a lot better.’
‘Our new website captures Clonakilty’s uniqueness as a destination and highlights our great food, music, shopping and activities in a town surrounded by beautiful scenery and the best beaches,’ said Cllr O’Sullivan.
‘We want to get the word out that Clonakilty has a brand new website and I would ask everyone to share it on their social media accounts.’
The website also features some stunning landscape and seascape photos from photographer John Beasley, as well as his photos capturing the new Clonakilty landscape. One year on from the completion of major road works in the town, the enhanced streetscape provides impressive visuals. Cllr O’Sullivan thanked fellow Chamber member Cathy Riordan of PR Wise, who managed the new website project, as well as Karen Buchanan from Granite, who designed the site.
‘We were given a clear brief and this new website shows off Clonakilty for what it is, and anything can be edited or added in seconds by members,’ said designer Karen Buchanan.
‘The home page has four different stunning images on the top and there are six big tabs outlining things to do in Clonakilty, as well as all the social media links on the bottom of the page.
‘We were also conscious that the new website would not be text-heavy and there are fantastic images throughout the website that reflect this.’
