THE Deloitte Fast 50 measures Ireland’s fastest growing indigenous companies in the tech sector.

The awards, which are in their 17th year in Ireland, recognise the contribution of indigenous companies to the overall technology sector in Ireland, and indeed the overall economy.

As part of the Fast 50, two Skibbereen-based companies were amongst those who received well-deserved awards.

The Impact award, in association with tech giant Paypal, was awarded to Skibbereen-based Spearline Labs for the significant impact it has demonstrated in the current year.

The Spearline Labs Automated Quality Testing Solution allows their customers to monitor and test their telephone numbers in countries around the world.

Granite Digital, based in Little Island, and run by Tragumna man Ger O’Shea, was also in the awards and was placed within the top 20 companies at the award ceremony.

An analysis of the companies that feature on this year’s ranking shows that the software industry dominates with 63% of companies operating in that sector. This is followed by the communications and hardware sectors.
