The celebrated Belle of Ballabuidhe competition was held in Dunmanway in August, hosted by The Parkway Hotel. The judges had a difficult job choosing from 15 worthy contestants, with the sash ultimately going to Erica Coakley, closely followed by Roisín Burns in second place, and Alice O’Donovan in third.

In January. Ballineen and Enniskeane Tidy Towns Association won the Waters and Communities Special Award 2024. Ellen Murhpy, the Community Water Officer is seen presenting the award to Dr. Margaret O'Donovan of Ballineen and Enniskeane Tidy Towns. The group conducted a Citizen Science study on the flora, fauna and natural heritage of the river, while implementing a green solution to deal with invasive species in the acclaimed Riverview Biodiversity Garden.
