‘Meade plays hurling the right way'

JAMIE Wall has tipped Luke Meade to have a big impact with Cork this year.

The Newcestown attacker played the two full games as Mary Immaculate College beat Limerick IT and IT Carlow to claim the Fitzgibbon Cup last weekend and his college manager expects the progress he has made to continue.

‘Luke has gone from strength to strength as the year has gone on,’ he says.

‘He plays hurling the right way and in many ways he epitomizes the way that we want to play hurling.’

Meade impressed as Cork began their Allianz HL Division 1A campaign with a win over Clare and, while a defeat was suffered against Dublin, he was still one of their brightest performers.

‘Luke’s the kind of guy Cork need,’ Wall says.

‘There’s loads of industry there but there’s plenty of efficiency too. He’s able to pull the strings, kind of in a quarterback role and I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops this year.’
