A WOMAN charged with having an axe and a hurley in her possession during a dispute on a Bandon street over two years ago will have her case heard in Cork Circuit Court.
Violetta Lakatos of 3 Parnell Street, Bandon appeared at Bandon District charged with producing an article in the course of a dispute and using or engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Sgt Eimear O’Connell told Judge Joanne Carroll that on June 16th 2023 Sgt Coholan attended a disturbance on Oliver Plunkett Street in Bandon.

‘He saw a number of people there and saw the accused with an axe and a hurley and he arrested her due to her aggression,’ said Sgt O’Connell.
Sgt O’Connell said the director of public prosecutions has indicated that the accused be prosecuted in the Circuit Court on the charge of producing an article during a dispute.
The court was told that the public order charge could be dealt with in the district court after Judge Carroll accepted jurisdiction on that matter.
Judge Carroll remanded the accused on continuing bail to appear on November 7th for service of a book of evidence.
