CLONAKILTY AFC U14 schoolgirls, Riverside Athletic U13 Schoolboys and Castlelack Athletic U12 Schoolboys celebrated SuperValu West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League trophy successes this past week.
Ballyvackey-based club Clonakilty AFC claimed Group A of this season’s U14 Schoolgirls Premier League.
A comprehensive victory at home to Beara United solidified top spot in the group, a trophy, and set up a two-legged U14 Schoolgirls Premier League final showdown with Group B winners, Sullane.

Sally McAuley netted a hat-trick in a Clonakilty win where the home side also had Alex O’Brien, Clodagh O’Regan, Lucy Harrington and Éala Pattwell on their scoresheet. Keelin Sullivan netted Beara United’s solitary reply.

Castlelack Athletic U12 overcame Ardfield Mountaineers to capture the U12 Schoolboys Premier League title in Brinny. Athletic lost only once in the league all season and made sure of the title with a terrific display to see off Premier League runners-up, Ardfield.
Liam O’Keefe and Noah Collins efforts handed Castlelack a 2-0 interval lead. The Mountaineers fought back impressively via Joshua Borowski and Oisín Cullinane strikes before a second Liam O’Keefe won it for a delighted Castlelack.

Daniel Brady scored four times as Riverside Athletic sealed the U13 Schoolboys League One title away to Togher Celtic.
The Carbery Park club proved too strong for Togher, thanks in part to Brady’s four-goal contribution, winning 6-1 to cement top spot in the division with a game to spare. That result marked Atheltic’s seventh win in as many outings with Daragh Aherne (2) also getting on the newly crowned champions scoresheet.

Elsewhere in the WCCSL, Ardfield Hurricanes picked up their fourth U12 Schoolboys League One victory of the season at home to Beara United. William Reid and Daragh Murphy scored for the visitors but a Colin Ronan hat-trick earned Ardfield a 3-2 win and all three points.
There were also five goals scored in Drinagh Rangers and Skibbereen Dynamos U13 Schoolboys Premier League clash at Canon Crowley Park. The Baltimore Road club emerged 3-2 winners despite Rory Hurley and Rocco O’Reilly Bermueller finding the net for Rangers.
Dunmanway Town kept their U14 Schoolboys Premier League title hopes alive courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Bay Rovers.
Vittor Coutinho and Matthew O’Connell found the net to move Town two points clear of closest challengers Castlelack (one game in hand) and Lyre Rovers heading into the final rounds of fixtures.
The aforementioned clubs played out a seven-goal thriller in Brinny with Rovers emerging 4-3 winners. Jack Allen scored twice for the hosts but it wasn’t enough to prevent a narrow defeat.
Bay Rovers got the better of Castlelack Celtic in the first leg of this season’s U15 Schoolboys Premier League play-off. Brendan Harrington’s hat-trick and a Rory Breen effort earned Rovers a 4-2 win in Brinny. Jack Allen replied twice for Celtic.
Togher Celtic have taken a commanding lead in the U16 Schoolboys Premier League play-off. A 5-1 first leg win at home to Drinagh Rangers was secured thanks to a Levi Bosma hat-trick plus additional Micheal Galvin and Daniel Vassallo efforts.
