AN Enniskeane company is intending to apply for planning permission to Cork County Council to extend an existing sand and gravel quarry at Mawbeg East, Enniskeane, writes Kieran O’Mahony.

The application by Enniskeane Concrete Products Ltd is currently going through a validation process before it goes to seek full planning permission.

As well as the extension of the quarry they hope to seek permission for the importation of clean stone and soil for reinstatement works as well as the carrying out of associated landscaping and biodiversity works and all other associated works at the site.

The final date for third party observations or submissions is February 4th 2026 and a decision is expected to be made on February 25th 2026.
