THE Park Magic app is coming to Cork County Council’s car parks and on-street parking in Bandon and Macroom, writes Kieran O’Mahony.

Cllr Gearóid Murphy (FF) sought an update of options for app-based and card-based payments at Cork County Council’s car parks and on-street parking.

His colleague, Cllr Gobnait Moynihan pointed out that people in Macroom don’t have a choice but she is looking forward to the new system which will be rolled out in the second quarter of this year.

Divisional Manager Niall Healy said: ‘The app is now available in Cobh, Fermoy, Kinsale and Youghal with Mallow to be onboarded during the first quarter of 2026 and then the second quarter will see the final two towns of Macroom and Bandon rolling out the app.’

He added that the council is streamlining the number of parking machines in towns and introducing dual payment options for cards.
