THE finale of a sale of works for Gaza by a renowned West Cork artist continues until Sunday March 22nd.

The ‘Beyond Words’ exhibition by Sheena Wood at the Quay Co-Op, Sullivans Quay, Cork city offers a unique chance to buy art at half price and support relief efforts in Gaza.

The exhibition spans the two top floors of My Goodness Cafe @The Co-Op, which is open Wednesday to Sunday, so you can combine the art sale with some great culinary treats.

All the art from the exhibition by Glengariff-based multimedia artist, Sheena Wood, is reduced by 50% to raise funds for Gaza until Sunday March 22nd.

The exhibition covers a wide range of art, from paintings to ceramics and mixed media. Some of the art works have been created especially with Palestinian motifs.

Sheena, who many may know through her involvement with the Ewe Experience, has lived and exhibited around the world, including the Middle East.

Some of her art is inspired by the colourful cultural richness of the markets and souks of Palestine, with the street sellers of Sumak spice or watermelon, the huge generosity of the people, sharing hearty meals.

At a time when the images we see, can destroy the memories, it feels more important than ever to revisit the lifeforce, the warmth, and the welcomes of people in the Middle East.

For 33 summers Sheena Wood and former war correspondent Kurt Lyndorff ran The Ewe Experience in West Cork; a sculpture trail with a narrative of natural history, peace and shared humanity.
