A SUPER Sunday of action is coming up at the top of the West Cork League Premier Division as dominant forces Drinagh Rangers and Clonakilty Soccer Club look for crucial wins.

Drinagh, who are currently at the top, face Dunmanway Town (2.30pm) away. Having won comfortably against their Drinagh B counterparts last time out, Drinagh will hope to keep their good run going. This is a Dunmanway side that drew 3-3 against Clonakilty in their last game, Town took the lead three times. It’s a tough game for Drinagh but they’ll look to stay clear of second-placed Clon.

Speaking of Clon, they travel to Drinagh Rangers B (2.30pm) as they look to get back to winning ways. Their draw to Dunmanway signalled an end to their year-long winning streak in the Premier Division but manager John Leahy will no doubt have a plan to regain the winning feeling. If Drinagh can cause a shock here, it will be welcomed by those in their A team.

The remaining game in the top tier sees Castletown Celtic welcome Togher Celtic (2.30pm). With Togher fourth in the standings and Castletown winless in seven games, there is no prizes in guessing who are the favourites. Togher can go level on points with Lyre Rovers in third by winning.

It’s first v second at the Championship as Bay Rovers host Beara United (2.30pm). Along with Ardfield, these two clubs have been the standard bearers in the second tier. Both have lost one game but who will succumb to a second defeat or could we be in for a draw?

With the top two in combat, Ardfield have a chance to take advantage at home to Mizen Hob (2.30pm). Mizen are third bottom having lost four of their six games so far so, judging by form, Ardfield could be in a top two position by Sunday evening.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Bunratty United entertain second from bottom Aultagh Celtic B (11am). United could leapfrog Skibbereen Celtic into fourth with a win here.

Mid-table duo Aultagh Celtic and Castlelack face off (11am) in a game where both sides are looking for their third victory of the season.
