A 29-YEAR-old Leap man charged with handling stolen property has been directed not to have any contact directly or indirectly with any alleged injured parties or witnesses.
David Hill of Dunscullib, Leap appeared at Bandon District Court on Friday March 20th. He was arrested at 3pm on Thursday March 19th.
Det Gda Martin Bohane of Bantry Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and told Judge Joanne Carroll that the accused replied after caution: ‘I didn’t know it was stolen at the time.’

Mr Hill is charged with handling stolen property, namely a Millwaukee Inch Drive gun, valued at €1,500.
Det Gda Bohane said gardaí had no objection to bail provided certain conditions were agreed to including that he have no contact direct or indirectly with any injured parties or witnesses in the case.
Judge Carroll also directed him to surrender his passport and European travel card and not to apply for any other travel documents.
She was told that the accused’s mother will provide independent surety for her son in a bond of €500 with no cash required.
Mr Hill is also required to sign on at Clonakilty Garda Station every Wednesday between the hours of 8am and 8pm and provide a mobile phone number to the sergeant in charge at the station within 72 hours.
Judge Carroll also directed him to abstain from all social media communication apart from immediate family and be of good behaviour and abstain from intoxicants in public.
She remanded him on bail to appear at Skibbereen District court on May 26th.
