SKIBBEREEN brothers Gary and Paul O’Donovan have qualified for Sunday’s A final of the lightweight double sculls at the senior European Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland.

The Skibbereen Rowing Club duo finished third in their semi-final today after a strong final 500m, behind Britain and Norway, and comfortably ahead of the Czech Republic, who came in fourth.

Another Skibbereen rower, Denise Walsh, will also be in action in a European Rowing Championship final on Sunday after she and Claire Lambe finished third in their lightweight women’s double semi-final on Saturday.

Best of luck to all this Sunday!
