St James 2-21
Kildorrery 3-13
LIAM Dooley hit a deadly dozen as St James defeated Kildorrery to win the Rebel Óg County U18 Division 3 Hurling Championship final at Bishopstown.
St James’ minor hurlers enjoyed the dream start in this 13-a-side final when Cathal O'Loghlin got on the end of a Sean Whelton delivery to goal in the first minute.
Kildorrery rallied though and, aided by a strong breeze, led by 0-11 to 2-3 at half time with Sean Whelton's outstanding goal keeping the Ardfield team in the running against the strong wind.

St James owned the ball in the second half but every time they clawed the lead back Kildorrery corner forward Eoghan Noonan managed to skip away and goal.
With eight minutes to go, and after Noonan netted his hat-trick, Kildorrery led by 3-13 to 2-13, and the Carbery club had it all to do.
St James found another gear and a string of points from Liam Dooley – including one from a 100-yard free –, Euan Whelton who was outstanding throughout, Cathal O’Loghlin, Sean Whelton, subs Ivan Eady and Darragh Keohane, and finally Conor Dooley resulted in a famous victory for the Mountain men.
