TWO West Cork clubs occupy the top two spots in the McCarthy Insurance Group Football League Division 7, as St James and Carbery Rangers’ second string set the pace.
St James went goal-crazy in their 4-11 to 1-11 win over Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels to maintain a 100 per cent record. Aaron Hayes top-scored for the Ardfield men with 2-3, while Ian Evans also impressed with 1-3. James O’Driscoll added 1-1, with Conor Hayes (0-2), Charlie McShane and Mark Evans (0-1 each) completing the tally.
Carbery Rangers have also won all of their games to date and saw off Mayfield 1-20 to 3-6. Ross were in control for long periods and led 1-9 to 0-4 at half-time, with a Niall Keane penalty providing a strong platform.

Jack O’Regan (0-6, 3f) and Patrick Hurley (0-4) were key contributors, while Mark Hodnett (0-4, 2f), Colm Hayes and Tom O’Rourke (0-2 each), and Padraig Tobin (0-1) also registered. Elsewhere in Division 7, Inniscarra defeated Nemo Rangers’ third team 4-11 to 0-8.

Dohenys sit fifth in Division 2 after maintaining their unbeaten start with a 1-11 apiece draw against Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh. Adam O’Donovan scored the Dunmanway club’s goal. The Muskerry side rallied late to earn a share of the spoils, converting the final three points through Donagh Shorten (two) and Seán Ó Luasa.
O’Donovan Rossa suffered a second consecutive defeat as St Michael’s proved too strong for the Skibbereen side, winning 1-12 to 1-6. James Ryan (1-1) and Luke O’Herlihy (0-3) were prominent for the city outfit.
Castletownbere remain bottom after a third successive loss, going down 2-12 to 0-8 to Ballincollig. Kevin O’Leary struck 2-0 for the Muskerry side, while Cian Dorgan was also influential.
Carrigaline lead the standings following a 0-16 to 1-5 victory over Clyda Rovers, with Éanna Desmond and Brian Coakley to the fore.

Adrigole top Division 4 after a 3-6 to 1-12 draw away to Nemo Rangers’ second team. The Beara side led 1-6 to 0-6 at half-time, with a Tom O’Connor goal the difference. Adrigole’s only two second-half scores came via Cormac Carey goals, both crucial in securing a point.
Gabriel Rangers were beaten 0-14 to 0-10 by Glanmire, leaving them seventh, while Macroom overcame Aghada 1-15 to 2-9.
In Division 1, St Finbarr’s edged Nemo Rangers 0-10 to 0-9, with Cillian Myers Murray again starring for the Barrs with 0-6. Éire Óg defeated Douglas 0-16 to 0-13, with Dylan Foley top-scoring on 0-4.
Division 3 saw wins for Kanturk, Bishopstown, Naomh Ában and Aghabullogue against Kilshannig, Newmarket, Rockchapel and Mallow respectively. St Nick’s and Canovee were victorious over Ballydesmond and Kinsale in Division 5, while Glenville got the better of Kildorrery in Division 6.
